 Ultima Limited was established in 1987 and has been involved in video rental, cable TV and the manufacture and installation of satellite dishes. Ultima is currently a major TV content and production company.
Ultima was awarded a License by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for a Multichannel, Multipoint, Distribution System (MMDS or Wireless Cable) License. In 1996, Ultima was also awarded a UHF Television License to transmit a coded channel for a Pay-TV service. In 2001, this License was converted to a Free-to-Air Television License by the NBC.
In 2004, Ultima acquired Nigeria’s exclusive franchise for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire from 2 Way Traffic. WWTBAM is currently in its 5th season and has been rated as one of the best programs on Nigerian TV.
Since 2006, Ultima has partnered with Telemedia, the leading global producers of call TV, to produce Quizline, a daily interactive show.
In 2008, Ultima successfully partnered with Endemol South Africa to produce Season 1 of Project Fame West Africa. PFWA proved to be a hit and Season 2 is scheduled for mid-2009.
